In Honour of Jarry
My name is Phil St-Cyr, I have been incredibly fortunate to learn from my Sifu (Teacher), Master Jarry M. Awalia, studying the art and way of Wing Chun Kuen and Taiji Chuan for the past 15 years
I have created this website in honour of my teacher and what I have learned. I take responsibility for any content that is not exact or deficient.
Whilst I say I have been learning for the past 15 years, my actual practice has not always been as dedicated or as fluid as it should have been, and therefore these years of practice should not be understood as having achieved a “high-level skill”. I am a student and still very much a beginner.
I have, however, been practicing and adopting concepts from these systems in my daily life and progressing.
I have had the benefit of having a unique relationship with Jarry as he is also my father-in-law, has been my business mentor, as well as an invaluable friend.
Under his tutelage, I have been able to practice these 2 movement systems, which have been extremely beneficial for me in my life, health, relationships, business, and in gaining wisdom.
Over the last 13 years, with my partners, I have a built a successful business group, I have progressed personally in my pursuits, have grown my family and been able to savour time with them, travelled extensively and have achieved a very fulfilling type of success.
It is difficult to use words to describe how grateful I am for what I have learned and how much joy and fulfilment I realize every day from this way of life.
In the midst of what seemed like unsurmountable obstacles, I have been able to be victorious using the concepts and techniques of these 2 systems and the underlying philosophy of the Wahé system.
The success I have been able to achieve and enjoy goes much beyond one typically categorized and understood by society as financial wealth.
How?
This system; Wahé
The holistic system of health and wellness based on Wing Chun, Taiji and eastern philosophy. This way of life.
It has been the ultimate investment in myself and for my family.
What is success?
In it’s most basic form: Freedom
Humanity has fought for freedom for as long as mankind as one of, if not, the most important aspect of our lives.
Success = freedom, and not the kind of freedom that comes from a non-caring attitude. Neither from the one that is derived solely from having great wealth, though some aspects may seem in parallel. Without fundamental life principles, the freedom that comes with great financial wealth can be very destructive, lonely, and a prison of its own.
The Wahé Success as I call it:
Free from the Dominance of the mind is the kind of success I am talking about:
Freedom from the shackles of the mind and self-serving desires
Freedom from self-doubt
Freedom to sharpen the mind and use it at your will
Freedom to enjoy and share resources and money.
Freedom to care and to love, and to be able to live in togetherness
Freedom to be healthy and able to live and enjoy that health
Freedom to move, and to be able to use that mobility
Freedom to have a family and to be able to be with that family
Freedom to have great skill and be able to practice and sharpen those skills
Freedom to to express yourself, and to have someone to express yourself to
Freedom to create
Freedom to not change the essence of who you are
Freedom to have time and age gracefully
These systems, as taught by Jarry, are not just a time-and-place practice. They are a way of life that keeps giving. Helping you think clearer, giving you purpose, and a method of how to get there. Almost like having a north star or a blueprint that is applicative to every part of your life. Whenever you are not sure of something you just put your question through the system and get the answer. It is almost like having your own personal validation method to know what the right path is.
The physical aspect of the practice has made me stronger, more flexible, strengthened my ability to deal with various daily conditions and events.
The philosophy has provided me with joy and happiness, clarity of mind in daily life, emotional and mental resilience, gaining greater control over my mind and developing subtle life knowledge and realizations that are so incredible.
The correct practice of the Wahé system by a single individual will touch 1 thousand people.
A better way of life does exist, Wahé is one of those ways.
